What’s dark, shaped like a tunnel, and requires mathematical and scientific thinking to escape?
Welcome to one of the most engaging interactive learning experiences in the world. Created by the Center for Excellence, The Science Maze challenges participants to use mathematical and scientific thinking to proceed from one station to another. The stations are found in a dark ultra-violet-lit tunnel shape maze. Each station has stimulating tasks to be accomplished by the young scientific adventurers in a specified time.

The Excitement in Studying
Participants begin the activity by attending a science workshop before proceeding to the entrance of the tunnel. Once in the tunnel, they are met by guides who are often 9th grade Mitchell Excellence 2000 participants in their own school or students from the Israel Arts and Science Academy. The guides have been trained to explain the task that must be accomplished at each station.
A Shared Experience
The entire physical structure for The Science Maze is easily transported from one location to another and has been used throughout the country. The presence of the maze gives local communities a sense of pride that it has been selected by the Center for Excellence to host it. Students of the local E2K classes are invited to the maze, which is a unique treat for them.
The Science Maze is open and attractive to all ages, junior high school children through high school students and adults. Every station has the flexibility to be adapted to different audiences and levels of difficulty. Prior to the arrival of The Science Maze, there is a great deal of local publicity introducing it as an all-community event and an exciting learning opportunity.
