2008 Herzliya Conference

"Excellence as a National Value"

The concept stressed at the "Excellence as a National Value" session was:

When Society Promotes Education -

  Education Promotes Society.

The session looked at the level of excellence in Israeli society.

In the 60 years since the creation of the state, has our society lost the value of excellence?

Speakers explored the disparity between economic growth, creative and thriving industry - and the continually declining state of education.
If the trend continues, where will the state of Israel be in 20, 30 years?
During the discussion, the Israel Center for Excellence through Education presented a plan to halt the decline.
