In the Center for Excellence's continuing efforts to provide experiential and enriching activities for 5th - 9th grade E2K participants, the Science Adventures Program was created. This highly interactive program provides a bridge between the theoretical and reality.

Science Adventures activities introduce students to cutting-edge scientific and technological advances through participation in field trips to research, science and technology centers throughout Israel as well as school-based activities, such as mobile science units. These mobile units demonstrate and explain fasciniating scientific phenomena and are sponsored by a variety of well-known academic and research institutions that promote interest in the sciences.
E2K schools can select three Science Adventure activities each year.
Science Adventure Themes

Science Adventure activities cover a broad range of themes from the scientific and technological fields. Examples of these themes include:
- The physics of pressure, sound, energy, heat and color
- Paleontology
- Aeronautics
- The mysteries of outer space
- Photosynthesis
- Environmental disasters and man's response
- Recycling
- Astronomy and astrophysics
- The use of the telescope and microscope
- Human genome, DNA and molecules
- Solving crimes utilizing scientific and technological knowledge
- Animal behavior
- Laser technology
Over forty-five well-designed activities addressing these and other themes are offered to E2K schools each year.
"Hands-on" Learning
Science Adventure activities compliment the E2K academic curriculum and bring to life the topics explored in the classroom. Students have the oppurtunity to interect with scientists and researchers in the field, and to experience themselves as researchers. Through direct exposure to contemporary scientific research centers, students are able to observe different phenomena, experiment with building different models, discover scientific principles, and identify where and how these principles are applied in everyday life.
Science Adventures activities provide a unique and exhilarating experience for young science adventurers and often serve as the impetus for their continued involvement in the world of science.
