The commitment to excellence with which The Israel Center for Excellence through Education began, has grown and flourished in Israel for two decades.
The Center for Excellence’s goal is to foster the concept of leadership, excellence and public responsibility throughout the entire educational community.
The Center for Excellence challenges bright and motivated students in every segment of Israel's population.

The Center for Excellence’s flagship program, The Israel Arts and Science Academy (IASA) is designed to place Israel’s most promising high school students in an environment of excellence, allowing them to blossom into well educated and socially responsible adults.  Students are native-born and immigrant Israelis, observant and secular Jews and Israeli Arabs. They come from more than 100 communities across Israel. Admission is based solely on merit. Ninety percent of the students receive scholarship assistance.

The IASA educational principles and methods are the foundation of Excellence 2000 (E2K), a program bringing extraordinary educational opportunities to elementary through high school students across Israel and the United States. Participants advance through their own efforts and discover their own abilities and potential to succeed.  Unique study units have been created by the Center for Excellence specifically for use in E2K classes.  E2K is giving students the tools they will need to actively participate in the technology revolution currently underway worldwide.

Bringing 21st century teaching methodologies to E2K teachers, the Excellence Educators Institute (EEI) trains more than 1,000 teachers in Israel and 300 teachers abroad. EEI represents the leading edge of reform in the education system in Israel and is taking the initiative in excellence education.

Excellence Enhancement is a set of programs that are the natural outgrowth of all that has been accomplished by the Center for Excellence. The programs are designed to encourage and facilitate an atmosphere that nourishes striving for excellence among school children, educators and the public at large. They reach out to a wide variety of audiences. Striving for excellence has become a key perception in education around the world. The Center for Excellence is bringing this concept to fruition throughout Israel.

Through extensive training by Center for Excellence staff, Excellence 2000 International is reaching thousands of students in Illinois, Iowa and New York in over 130 schools.  Excellence 2000 Internation takes place in an additional 27 schools in Singapore. Continued professional support from the Center for Excellence in Jerusalem throughout the school year helps the schools abroad receive the full benefit of this innovative and effective initiative.

Many other activities and pilot programs conducted by the Center for Excellence follow in the footsteps of IASA bringing excellence to the students’ schools and communities.
